Black Raspberry

IMG_6019_1.jpg

Much more intense flavor than the red raspberry, not for the faint of heart. The color, flavor and aroma of this soda is deep and rich—at once sharp but not lingering.

Pairs with a strong, firm cows’ milk cheese like gruyere or mountainous tome.

Devastatingly sinister-looking, the black raspberry is firm, plump and deliciously sweet. The Munger varietal, introduced in 1897, is the top choice for the Pacific Northwest, grown commercially and in the home garden. Oregon grows the vast majority of black raspberries in the U.S.

Ingredients: Carbonated water, black raspberries grown in the Willamette Valley, cane sugar, organic lemon juice. Nutrition Facts: Each bottle contains: 0 Fat; 1mg Sodium; 37g Carbohydrates; 1g Protein. And Percent Daily Values of: 8% Vitamin C; 1% Calcium; 3% Iron; 1% Vitamin A. Contains black raspberry pulp.

I've been lucky enough to sample all of the HotLips soda at the Beaverton Farmers Market, and I have to say that the Black Raspberry is the undisputed king of all fruit sodas. I go back every Saturday to buy another six-pack. It is simply to die for!!
